This Was a New Experience

Earlier this week I had the privilege of visiting Covenant Eyes in Owosso, MI. I was invited by FireTrigger to be featured in a documentary title, “Scratching the Surface.” This documentary will feature some of the leading minds on the issue of pornography… and me… discussing how to equip people on the battle of pornography addiction today.

I am so excited and immensely humbled to be a part of this project and be the voice for millions of women addicted to pornography. This was an incredible opportunity for networking and for a real synergy among those…

Why I Got Ashed

As some of you know, I was born into a Catholic family. And while I was too young to participate in most of the traditions of this faith, I remember them feeling ritualistic and obligatory.

Since becoming a Protestant Christian and in the last few years, I have thrown away anything to do with my Catholic past. But recently, I have felt the Lord ask me to reacquaint myself with a few of these traditions. Particularly the observance of Ash Wednesday and the Lenten season that follows.

I’m going to share about what I am doing… not to sway you… but…

“No, I am Single.”

It is so funny how almost every other day of the year I am perfectly content with my single status (because I know that it is temporary and the Lord hasn’t called me to a perpetual life of singleness), but when Valentine’s Day comes it is like I forget all of that. And let a holiday that originally commemorated the death of martyred Saints make me all wonky.

Yesterday, someone who was essentially a stranger asked me, “so, what are you and your husband doing for Valentine’s Day?” Not only…

Next week on Valentine’s Day, we’re doing a throw-back to 3rd grade and exchanging Valentine’s among the staff. Including designing our own Valentine boxes. I mean, legitimately 3rd grade.

Valentine’s Day may be my least favorite holiday—as a single person. But at least we’re trying to make it fun this year. And even better… now I don’t have to worry about my crush pretending he didn’t see my card, expressing my undying love and devotion.

Well, Lance LeMond—wherever you are—I’m totally over you.

Project 365: January 26-February 1, 2010

I know I am totally cheating with this post. I have been majorly slacking in the picture taking arena as of late. Thank you for the grace and not pointing that out.

A LOT has been going on. A LOT of amazing things. A LOT I could delve into but I won’t just yet. But I’m back and will do my very best keep things updated.

Today’s pictures come from last weekend (and the reason the last week has been dead around here).

I was a breakout speaker at the National Coalition Women of Virtue Conference on Friday/Saturday. WOW! And did…

I slowed down enough today to let my trusty old external hard-drive back up my computer. The reason for doing so is that I realized I haven’t backed-up since November.

And to give some idea of how dumb that is—since November: I have written two chapters from my book and an entire book proposal, designed a Dirty Girls Brochure and Dirty Girls business cards, compiled an entire expense sheet, downloaded A LOT of music and who knows what else.

I was just one computer glitch away from losing a lot of stuff and not to mention my sanity.

I have been…
